How Involved Should I Be in the Creative Process of Web Design?
There is definitely a happy medium here! You should absolutely love your site and everything about it, but you should also be open to the idea of creative design choices you might not have thought of yet.
In the beginning, you’ll receive a mood board from me going over branding, colors, and the basics of your design. If there is anything there you are unhappy with, do not hesitate to let me know so we can fix it. From there, I’ll integrate that vision into your web design. You’ll receive a link after each page is done for approval, and if anything just isn’t right, please let me know! I’ll include examples of ways to give feedback so I can understand what I need to change to fit the vision you have. Because at the end of the day, this is your business. If you’re not obsessed with it, how do you expect it to make you money?
Other designers may look at it differently, so definitely research their process before hiring them.
You should definitely have a say in the creative process, but you should also trust the designer you’re hiring to deliver a beautiful, well done web design. The creative process will always vary from designer to designer, so making sure you love the designers work is crucial. I don’t mind having some input about the direction you’d like your website to go, but other designers may work differently. Always do your research!
